As Connecticut’s newest entertainment venue, the highly-anticipated 4,000-seat MGM Grand Theater will showcase the only US concert appearance scheduled for this year with Gloria Estefan. A music superstar both in English and in Spanish, she has sold over 70 million records worldwide and recorded 24 albums throughout a long and prolific career. Her career as a prolific songwriter earned her five Grammy Awards, an Oscar Nomination for her song w/ Nsync "Music of My Heart" and the distinction of being the first Hispanic female songwriter to be named BMI’s Songwriter of the Year.
Estefan’s new CD, “90 Millas” (90 Miles), featuring the #1 hit single ‘No Llores’, was produced by Grammy winning producer Emilio Estefan, a driving force behind Latin music in the United States. The CD is a collection of 14 original songs in Spanish that pay tribute to the roots of Cuban music, while at the same time injecting a modern sensibility to the traditional rhythms.
