MGM GRAND AT FOXWOODS ANNOUNCES THREE MORE WORLD-CLASS SKATERS TO JOIN ALL-STAR LINEUP FOR "THIN ICE"MGM Grand at Foxwoods and O'Neil Entertainment today announced three more figure skaters for “Thin Ice,” a new reality competition to be broadcast live on ABC Television from the Premier Ballroom at the MGM Grand on March 19 at 8 p.m. and March 21 at 7 p.m.
The new entries are:
· David Pelletier, Canada, 2001 World Champion, 2002 Olympic Gold Medalist
· Michael Weiss, USA, 3-time U.S. National Champion, 2-time Olympian
· John Zimmerman, USA, 3-time U.S. National Champion, 2002 Olympian
These three names are added to the two announced last week -- 2006 Olympic gold medalist Shizuka Arakawa of Japan and 2003 World Champion Shae-Lynn Bourne of Canada. Seven positions remain to be filled in the field of 12 world-class professional figure skaters.
Emmy Award-winning co-host of The View, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, and Kurt Browning, four-time world champion Canadian figure skater, will co-host “Thin Ice” live from MGM Grand at Foxwoods.
Two of the judges will be Kristi Yamaguchi, 1992 Olympic Gold Medalist and Season #6 champion of ABC's “Dancing with the Stars,” and Dick Button, two-time Olympic Champion, Emmy award-winning broadcaster and the voice of figure skating on American television for 45 years. The judging will be 50 percent viewer-vote on www.abc.com and 50 percent by the panel of three judges.
